BACKGROUND
 
The Southern African Plastic Pipe Manufacturers Association (SAPPMA) was launched in 2004 to represent the interests of the well developed plastic pipe business in South Africa and surrounding countries.

The scope and purposes of SAPPMA are far-reaching and cannot be overemphasized. Benefits of membership to companies, and benefits of specification to engineers are substantial.

Scope and Purpose:
The purpose of SAPPMA is to create consumer confidence within the Plastic Pipe Industry and to promote the production and the use of high quality plastic pipes and pipes systems.

The scope of activities includes matters such as product quality, product standards, technical information, market education, environment, ethics and others. Pipes produced by member companies carry the registered SAPPMA logo for clear identification. SAPPMA is affiliated to the Plastics|SA and has a seat on the Federal Council. It operates from the offices of the Plastics|SA in Midrand.

Incorporation:
SAPPMA is a voluntary, self-regulating association registered as a Section 21 Company in terms of the Companies Act of SA. It represents plastic pipe manufacturers and other stakeholders in the Industry.

Trade Marks:
The SAPPMA name and logo are registered as Trade Marks in classes 35, 37, 38, 41 and 42.
